One of Belfast’s newest new-old pubs, in that it has shed the shackles of its ‘old man’s bar’ reputation and been given a hipster makeover. Formerly Copperfields, it’s now a home to both imbibing students from Belfast Met’s Millfield campus and shoppers, thanks to its location parallel with the city centre’s main thoroughfare, Donegall Place. Downstairs is small and cosy, serving lunch and a good beer selection, while upstairs you’ll find spray-paint-artified walls, lots of seating space plus night-time entertainment encompassing everything from cover bands to acoustic acts, goth to trad Irish tunes and LGBT clubs to hip-hop nights. The clientele is mostly young and alternative - think tattoos rather than suit-and-tie.
