Ulster Orchestra

Founded in 1966, the much acclaimed Ulster Orchestra is Northern Ireland's only professional symphony orchestra. The Orchestra's 63 full-time musicians perform in Belfast (mainly at the Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall) and across NI. They also regularly embark on international tours.

The Orchestra's annual programme of concerts is highly accessible and encompasses everything from Mozart to Music from the Movies. Lunchtime recitals, Family Concerts and Popular Classics keep newcomers and music buffs entertained throughout its all-encompassing repertoire.

Renowned international conductors, singers and musicians often join the ensemble for special concerts. And, from time to time, the UO accompanies well-known performers across a diverse range of music genres - among them local heroes Neil Hannon (Divine Comedy) and Duke Special.

Catch the Ulster Orchestra in concert during their 2011/2012 season and as part of October's Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen's.
