Kate's B&B

  127 University St      (+44) (0)28 9028 2091     more than a year ago
This 19th century townhouse has been converted into a very popular Queen's Quarter B&B. The artery-clogging Ulster Fries, described by the proprieters themselves as the proverbial 'heart attack on a plate', are specifically designed to soak up the morning after the night before. When you're staying in this bar-bedecked location, chances are you'll be a little the worse for wear come sun-up. Pass the alka seltzer.

Absolutely terrible definitely avoid! The room was horrific. We booked for 1 night and we did not stay. The smell was disgusting, the room was dirty, unclean and dusty. I have stayed in many BnB''s, how this place is allowed to trade I don''t know. Going by the pictures it looked ok we weren''t expecting much as it was a bnb however when we got there our room was vile. Very let down and ruined our stay, ending up paying more money to stay elsewhere.

Stayed here for 4 nights NOV 08. Had a great welcome and if you want down to earth, good Irish people/ accomodation, then this is the place to stay. Kate and Clem were great and very accommodating to our numerous requests. Yes they do have cats, but not once was there any smell of urine as the above poster mentioned. And the cats left all the guests alone (unless like me you chose to interact with them).Breakfast was good and they seem to give people what they ask for (healthy or the fry up). There was a nice big bowl of fruit in the room to welcome us. There were all nationalities in residence while we were there and a few who were regular visitors to Kate's B n B. We would definatly stay there again. It was in a central area to the university and the city centre. The bus routes were a 2 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants and cafe's in the area. So if you are looking for what I would call a good old Irish place to stay rather than your run of the mill hotel then this is priced well.
