It all began here. Not literally everything, you’ll have to go to the Big Bang for that, but the world of British thermal spas got its start right here in beautiful Bath. This city is a serene stunner at the worst of times but a trip to the spa will push that tranquility into overdrive (if you’ll ignore the inherent contradiction in that claim), allowing your body and mind to regenerate through a variety of facilities and techniques. The majority of the spa is found in a unique glass cube designed by Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, a fascinating piece of architecture strangely at odds with the historic nature of the spa.
