The name might seem a little presumptuous (we need to get through King Charles first), but King William is without doubt one of the best traditional British restaurants in Bath. West Country produce rules this kitchen and it shows in the love afforded to the menu, with the upstairs dining room among the most stylish in town. This has been a staple of the Bath gastronomic (and boozing) scene since 1867 and has gone from strength to strength since undergoing new ownership in 2004. This might just be the quintessential British gastropub.
