This Centre, situated in a former industrial complex and spanning a total area of approximately 60,000 sq.m., is not a Museum in the conventional sense of the term. It does host exhibitions aiming at showcasing the development of the arts, sciences and every aspect of society throughout the Hellenic world (the current exhibition is entitled 'A Journey to the World of Greek mathematics'). Yet, its exhibits are not the usual original artefacts, but contemporary reconstructions of an interactive character, including state-of-the-art technological applications. The Foundation also hosts the ‘Tholos’, a dome-shaped virtual-reality theatre, currently showing an interactive tour of the Ancient Athenian Agora. The Foundation also includes a conventional theatre, a café, internet-access area and gift-shop. Highly recommended if you are looking for a high-tech educational experience for the whole family and want to rediscover the little explorer in you. (Bus line 049 Omonia-Piraeus, Bus-stop: Viochalko)
