This beautiful landscape park situated between a canal, train tracks and a highway is within a 15-minute bike ride from the centre of Tilburg. When you get there you'll be amazed by the striking beauty of the countryside. On sunny days you'll find cyclists and walkers everywhere enjoying the open meadows and ponds while ornithologists can often be seen searching for rare birds. Around the year 1310, this estate housed one of the first three stone buildings erected in Tilburg, Huize Moerenburg, and is an important part of the city’s history. The artwork is of particular importance as it shows the outlines of the original building that no longer exists. Over 1200 plant and animal species, including 70 species of butterflies, live here, some of which are unique to Brabant and even the Netherlands. CafĂ© Zomerlust, which is located in the park, is also home to the Moerenburg visitor's centre.
