If given a choice of having a night out in Amsterdam or Paris, most people would probably choose the former and not the latter, yet for some reason it seems like all of the fun things to do on the island are located on the French side. Take for example the Loterie Farm. Far away from all the tourist traps, this place is tucked away in the only remaining section of tropical forest left on the island. Opened as a sugar plantation in 1721, since 1999 it has served as an eco-sanctuary. The main attraction of this 135-acre nature reserve would have to be the three treetop level zip line courses varying from a kids and beginners' line to the fly-one extreme line for true adrenaline junkies. Please note, that once you've started, there’s no turning back. The views from the courses are magnificent and it's a perfect outing for athletic families. A restaurant/bar, swimming pool and a spa are also at your disposal, but get here early to avoid the large groups of cruise ship passengers.
