If you’re absolutely famished, as we were, after hours of strolling around the castle learning about its illustrious and savage inhabitants, then duck down into the cellar restaurant under the commemorative relief of Copernicus in the main courtyard and dine under vaulted medieval ceilings. Although we expected to have our wallets raped and pillaged in keeping with the Teutonic crusader theme, the large servings of Polish and international dishes are actually surprisingly affordable with two-course lunches and three-course kids’ meals available around the 40zł mark.
