Self-styled as a ‘good and proper place’, George’s Great British Kitchen has become something of an institution in the north of England. Personality is everything here, although that personality is intensely flavoured with some of the freshest ingredients in the city, and you won’t find a better selection of fish and chips in the country. Two thumbs up.
