Soprana Gate (Porta Soprana)

  Piazza Dante      (+39) 010 251 67 14     more than a year ago
Along with the light house, the two towers of the Porta Soprana have become one of the best known symbols of the city. Built in the middle of the 12th century, along with the walls, to keep out the ferocious Barbarossa they still stand in their original glory, a gateway into the old town. You can go inside for an unusual walk around the top with interesting views. If your legs aren’t up to the climb, have an aperitif in one of the nearby bars and admire it from below.
