The first conservation area in Hungary, Nagyerdei Park is the heart and soul of modern day Debrecen. The name means ‘Great Forest’, and there are plenty of treats lurking inside. Pounds, lakes, memorials and more await, but the park is worth visiting for its relaxing qualities alone. There is no better place in Debrecen for an afternoon stroll, no matter what time of year you find yourself in town. Water towers, swimming centres, promenades and a whole lot more are found in the Great Forest, the centre of tranquility in bustling Debrecen.
