This national park is home to kapok, the oldest tree in Curacao, a giant silk-cotton tree similar to those that have been widely cultivated in tropical regions for their fibres. Brought to Curaçao over 400 years ago by the first inhabitants of the island, over the years it has grown into this natural monument. Its gigantic trunk has - according to some - a 'sensual, capricious form'. You'll also find a wide range of wildlife (donkeys, snakes, hawks), some kenepas, mango trees and other tropical fruit trees in the park, at least, if the gate is open, cause the staff seems to come only on Island Time.
