The local currency in Curaçao is the Netherlands Antillean guilder (also called the florin), which is abbreviated as Nafl or Ang. US dollars circulate freely, so it's also possible to get by using only American dollars or credit cards, but bear in mind that vendors rarely supply change in US currency. US dollars are accepted everywhere, along with all major credit cards and traveller's checks. Currency from other countries can be exchanged at banks, but traveller's checks and credit cards may be more convenient. ATMs are found in many places across the island, especially at banks, hotels, supermarkets and gas stations among others. Exchange rates: US$1 = Nafl 1.77 (cash) US$1 = Nafl 1.78 (traveller's check)
