Like most other cities around Europe, Sofia has worked hard in recent years to offer a variety of Christmas attractions, activities and events to help ease us into the Spirit of Christmas.

Sofia Christmas Fest
Where: Outside the National Palace of Culture (NDK)When: Until 28th December opens at 11am every day
The north end of the gardens, bordering with Boulevard Patriarch Eftimii, offers an artists alley (Art Bazaar) with plenty of hand crafted gift options predominantly made by local artisans and some stalls representing local charities. There are the usual huts selling food and drink, many actually outlets from well known cafes and restaurants around town. There is a stage area for variety of entertainment, a Ferris wheel, a merry-go-round and Santa's bench where photos can be taken with Santa (5 leva charge)
Deutscher Weihnachtsmarkt Sofia
Where: City Park, Battenberg SquareWhen: Daily until 22nd December from 11am - 10 pm
Already in its 14th year the German Christmas market pretty much offers all that you would expect; Glühwein, German sausages and other grilled meats, traditional German Christmas decorations, a kids play area and live entertainment.
Vintage Christmas in New York
Where: Nu Boyana Film StudiosWhen: 14th - 30th December
The New York set of Nu Boyana Film Studios comes alive in a magical holiday experience for all the family, filled with dazzling lights, festive music, and breathtaking Christmas decorations.
One day pass ticket: 38 leva (children up to 12 - 28 leva) from Eventim or 45 leva at the gate
The ticket grants access to a variety of attractions, fun games, exciting activities, and of course there will be food and drink stalls.
My Eco Christmas - Sofia Farmer's Festival
Where: The LargoWhen: 20th - 22nd December 11am - 9 pm
Already in its 10th year “My Eco Christmas” is for all those who consciously want to live a more responsible, cleaner and healthier life style. Apart from many organically produced products from small Bulgarian producers like honey, cheeses and cured meats; you will find many beautiful souvenirs and accessories made from natural or recycled materials. There will be craft workshops for young and old, where original Christmas gifts can be created. Authentic and healthy food and drinks for consumption on site.
Lumina Park Sofia : Around the World
Where: Botanical Garden, Sofia Ring Road 22 (between Boyana & Dragalvetsi junctions south side)When: Every day until 2nd March 2025 from 5 pm - 9pm CLOSED MONDAYS
