The Czech Republic is essentially one big gorgeous village, so it isn’t a great surprise to find out that its second largest city is surrounded by simply stunning towns. Mikulov is one such destination, an idyllic collection of red roofs, Gothic spires and castles, all tied together by some fascinating history and arguably the most storied Jewish Quarter in the country. The city is just a 45 minute drive south of Brno, making it an ideal day trip.
