At the end of 19th century, Batumi’s Catholics, along with the European consulates in the city, requested the building of a church. It was constructed in 1897 in a Neo-Gothic style, with three domes. In Soviet times it was used as an archive and a high-voltage laboratory. Today it is the main Cathedral of Batumi.
