Millions of baseball fans in North America, and everyone on Aruba, has heard of Xander Jan Bogaerts. Born in 1992 as one of two identical twins in the village of Sint Nicolaas, this Boston Red Sox shortstop is already a living legend. Despite his youth, he has won the two most prestigious baseball titles available including a World Series win with the Sox and, more surprisingly, first place in the 2011 Baseball World Cup as a member of the Dutch national team. His biggest fan is still his Uncle Glenroy, who taught him the finer points of the sport in his Aruban garden. Lacking a proper baseball bat, Xander improved his skills to perfection by hitting almonds with a broomstick!
