Texel is full of sheep and if you'd like to know more about these cute (and delicious) creatures, head down to Boerderij Rozenhout. This beautiful place has been raising sheep since 1740. Owner Hans maintains a herd of at least 500 grazing animals on his green fields, but numbers change constantly as newborns come into the world and lambs are, well, slaughtered for dinner tables across Texel and the other parts of Holland. In addition to sheep, you'll also find pigs, chickens, cats, ducks, ponies and plenty of other barnyard animals.
