Just look up when you enter this shop, because that’s where all the action is! Crystal chandeliers in all sizes and shapes hang from the ceiling. According to the friendly owner, there are only two proper producers of crystal in the world: Swarovski (Austria) and Asfour (Egypt). This store sells the latter. The factory began in 1961 with 1500 employees, but now employs over 35,000 people. Some of the chandeliers are so massive that the ceiling is barely high enough to prevent the crystals from touching the ground. Beautiful jewellery, figurines and even little crystal bathroom tiles are also available, but be prepared to pay for the outstanding quality.
