In addition to being the most expensive city for hotel rooms, Amsterdam is also among the top five cities in Europe with the cleanest air. Excellent public transport and lots of electric cars are two of the main reasons for its exalted position. The European Environmental Bureau compared the air quality of 25 European cities and Amsterdam earned its elevated ranking along with such other metropolises as Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm.
