Although Amsterdam has no shortage of picturesque canals, this beautiful waterway is one of the city’s prettiest and in our opinion outshines other scenic stretches such as the Golden Bend. The Brewers’ Canal began its existence in the 17th century but earned its name hundreds of years later when many beer brewers chose to set up shop on the canal. Unlike the busy canals in the centre, the atmosphere here is laid back and relaxed. Most of the tiny little houses along the way have brightly painted shutters and the canal is covered in small bridges.
