Sibiu’s railway station is not half as bad as many others in the country. In the (actually rather nice) main hall you will find an ATM, a Relay press store, and helpful staff at the ticket office. There is even a chemist. There is a 24 hour left luggage deposit (5.90 lei per bag per day). Outside - in a big and well organised car park - taxis and buses await, although unless you are heading for the airport or a hotel on the city’s outskirts, it is unlikely you will need any transport at all.

You can walk into the Old Town in less than ten minutes by following Strada Magheru (directly in front of you as you exit the station). The street leads directly to Piata Mare. Bus No. 5 runs from the station to Piata Unirii, while No. 13 will take you to the Astra Museum. Tickets (1.50 lei) from the automated machine by the stop.
