Truth to Power at Apartheid Museum
Aug 20 - Apr 1 2023
Cnr Northern Parkway and Gold Reef Rd, Ormonde (Gold Reef City)
Using archival footage, art and photography the exhibition brings you closer to the life of one of South Africa's most beloved figures. It is a powerful reminder of South Africa's history as well as the power that individuals have to change the fate of a nation. Father Xolani Dlwati, Dean of the Anglican Church in Johannesburg, says of the exhibition, “I see it more as a pilgrimage than a visit to an exhibition. It ignites something within you to explore and reflect on what contribution you can make as an individual and collectively.”
The exhibit is structured around five themes of Tutu's life and is designed with intent to inspire exhibition-goers to follow in Tutu's footsteps. It adds another incentive for people to revisit the museum, or visit it for the first time, and is an important educational tribute to one of South Africa's foremost struggle icons.
Tickets can be bought at the door. Adults pay R150, pensioners, students and children R100, learners R55 and teachers R60.
