Lashings of brass and Formica in the lobby set the tone for yet another of Łódź’s delightful throwback hotels. Featuring a wonky lift, lime green corridors and creaky floorboards the Polonia comes armed to the teeth with an eclectic choice of inimitable rooms. Choose from unrenovated masterpieces with tiny balconies, strange little two-room triples, fully renovated doubles with huge windows and any combination therein. Extras don’t play a major part in this hotel’s repertoire, the most exciting find being some rather large transistor radios, but if it’s character you’re looking for you couldn’t do much better than this place. Please note, currently undergoing renovation.
