One of the oldest restaurants in Poland, this ambient tavern sports over 300 regional and craft beers, gingerbread wines and liqueurs, and a menu of hearty Polish cuisine.
Gospoda Pod Modrym Fartuchem (Tavern Under The Dark Blue Apron) has welcomed guests since 1489, and is amongst the oldest operating restaurants in Poland. Having been a gathering place for craftsmen, locals, and travelers from around the world, its guest registry has included Polish royalty - Kazimierz IV Jagiellon (1427-1492) and Jan I Olbracht (1459-1501). It is speculated that the inn accomodated Napoleon Bonaparte while campaigning in Prussia in 1807. From morning coffee and desserts to hearty Polish cuisine at lunchtime, the tavern transforms into a beer haven by night. Traditional and modern dishes delight visitors, with the famed liver dish winning hearts. Beer lovers can explore over 300 regional and craft brews, alongside unique gingerbread wines and liqueurs.
