Located in the Sihlpost building, just off the main train station, this is the latest branch of Zurich's vegetarian institution Hiltl. Its trademark vegetarian buffet offering dozens of curries, chutneys and vegetarian versions of meat dishes, like the tartar for example, is surrounded by the nostalgic decorations of a former post office. Luckily, the raw industrial charm of the rooms hasn't been touched and the wooden counters where you pay for your meal are the originals used by the post office back in the 1930s. The food is excellent, as it is in all of its other branches, so grab a plate, fill it up at the buffet and go to the counter where you pay for the weight of your serving. Hiltl Sihlpost doesn't take reservations.
