Kórnik

The pretty little town of Kórnik is one of the major tourist attractions of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region and the Greater Poland Voivodeship because of the historical castle and arboretum, which is amongst the oldest and richest collections of trees and shrubs in Poland!

Getting to Kórnik

If you’re in Poznań the easiest way to reach Kórnik is by bus. You have two choices. Either take the private Kombus bus (tel. 61 898 06 66, www.kombus.com.pl), numbers 501 (5:50 - 23:15, weekends 5:00 - 23:00), 502 (weekdays at 6:55 and 16:20) or 560 (5:15 - 22:30, Sat 6:00 - 21:00, Sun 09:30 - 21:00) which leave from the Kombus bus station (Rataje Roundabout, ul. Krzywoustego 19). Tickets are bought directly from the driver - just ask for Kórnik Rynek, hand the man 6.30/3.20zł (for students up to the age of 26, children under 5 travel free, and note that prices may increase in the new year) and away you go. Your journey will take around 30 minutes. Buses run weekdays from 05:20 until 23:30 with at least one bus every hour departing around the hour mark on weekdays with an extra bus running at peak times. At weekends buses leave once an hour, most hours, at the start of the hour. Buses run from 05:00 until the last bus at 23:00. There is also a PKS bus (tel. 703 30 33 30, www.pks.poznan.pl) that runs from Main Bus Station (ul. Stanisława Matyi 1). The first one leaves at 06:25 (weekends 06:30) and the last 22:30. Buses leave Poznań at least once an hour with additional buses between 11:00 and 17:00.Ticket costing 8.60zł may be bought in the ticket office in the station or from the driver.
