Assuming that you haven’t brought your own vehicle into the country, renting a car is by far the best option for getting around. Road signs are in Macedonian, Albanian and English and petrol stations are common. Many of the main highways in North Macedonia require the payment of a small toll to use them. Be sure to carry cash when you travel.
