Free wireless internet access in Skopje is becoming increasingly common, with more and more bars, hotels, restaurants and other places where people congregate providing fast connections at no cost. Both 3G and 4G services are also available, although data roaming is far from cheap in Macedonia. A good idea if you need a data connection is to consider buying a prepaid Macedonian SIM card with a built-in data plan. All three providers offer this service, although beware you generally need to provide ID when buying a local SIM card.
