Piata Huet's defining landmark is this enormous, starkly Gothic church, built in various stages from 1350, and only finally completed in 1520. Its tower is just over 73 metres high, and the view from the top is well worth the long, steep climb. Although the interior is somewhat modest (especially when compared with the Orthodox Cathedral down the road) there are a number of fine frescoes to admire, the finest of which is the enormous Rastignirea (The Crucifixion), painted by Johannes of Rosenau in 1445 and entirely restored in 1989-90. The church's treasury is said to be one of the most valuable in Europe. The organ, installed in 1914, is the largest in the country.
