First opened in 1929, this lovely zoological garden has grown from a small menagerie to a 20 hectare park offering visitors the chance to see 1500 animals from about 270 species, but still manageable in size. Most of the exhibits are outdoors in the natural setting of the surrounding Wolski Forest - making this a great sunny day activity - and some of the enclosures even feature distinctly Polish rural wooden architecture. Highlights include the Siberian tigers, giraffes, elephants, sea lions, penguins, camels, otters, mandrills, and a surprisingly impressive array of brightly-plumed pheasants (our favourite). If the weather is nice and you time it well you can catch exciting feeding demonstrations of the elephants, penguins and sea lions (the best) - ask for the times at the ticket window. There’s also a petting zoo (closes 30mins earlier than the rest of the park), snack bar for when you’re hungry and ice cream vendors so your kids have something totally unnecessary to nag you about. Bus 134 leaves every 30mins from 'Cracovia Stadion' (ul. Józefa Kałuży) and drops you off at the entrance. Open 09:00 until about dusk, you can check the exact hours online; last entrance 1hr before closing.

Hi Lilian, Thanks for your comment. The Kraków Zoo is basically open every day of the year, including Easter. They are usually open 09:00 - 15:00 in April, but you can check on their website closer to Easter to confirm; if anything they might be open a bit later than 15:00.
