Housed inside a complex of beautifully restored former Jewish houses and another building in the same courtyard, this fabulous museum charts the history of traditional Lithuanian music with the help of scores of fascinating exhibits including horns wrapped in bark, flutes fashioned from birds’ feathers, accordions, zithers, harmoniums, a Soviet-era electronic organ made in Vilnius and much more. Recent additions include a musical staircase that plays a sutartinė as you walk up and down it and an interactive podium where visitors can create and perform their own songs.
