Dolbadarn Castle hero image

At the base of the Llanberis pass sits Dolbadarn Castle, or at least what is left of it, another 13th century fortification in the North of Wales. This one is a little different in that it was an important port of Llywelyn the Great’s power, and its stone keep has been described as the finest remaining example of a Welsh round tower that exists. All this is well and good, but we’re most excited about the views you get from this part of the world; it isn’t hard to see why the castle was built here. You won’t get a better picture of Llyn Padarn than from this vantage point.
