​​​​​We love the home decor and furniture emporium's new home (April 2022) in the Kramerville design district. Launched in 2020 at Hyde Park Corner, Always Welcome quickly outgrew its space in the mall and now occupies an impressive showroom and retail store at 17 Commerce Crescent.

A pioneer in bringing South African-made furniture and homeware accessory brands into the mainstream – Always Welcome showcases more than 30 leading South African furniture and decor designers, with something unique to suit every taste, in a dazzling range of colours, styles and designs. Here you'll find covetable brands such as Mash.T Studio, Houtlander, Dokter & Misses, Something Good Studio and The Urbanative.

You will find loads of inspiration and an exciting range of items, from the small and ornamental to the large and statuesque. 

A unique concept, Always Welcome is a designer-led store, supported by more than 30 designers whose work is showcased here, and with plans to grow its portfolio. More than a store it's a playspace for furniture designers.

The store is a collaboration with Planetworld, specialists in smart home technology and automation – from lighting and sound to the home cinema you have always wanted – so it's been designed to maximise your experience. Immersive is a good way to describe this light-filled space with glorious tree views filled with tastefully organised and decorated spaces, to help you conjure your dream room or home. 

All you have to do is ask – and you'll get a full demo of the array of cinema rooms, a chance to try out the sound experience rooms and enjoy a coffee at the bar. 

There are plans for events and pop-ups, a materials library and exciting collaborations, so this is a space worth following.
