One of the most popular places to visit whilst in Abu Dhabi is this museum. Built as the residence of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan in 1937, he and his family resided here until 1966. It was later converted into a museum and opened its doors to the public in 2001. Large numbers of visitors come each year, who wish to admire the Bedouin style architecture and see the former teaching room with the Prophet Muhammed’s sayings inscribed on the ceiling. Lots to see and learn and if that isn’t enough to entice you in, it’s also free to enter.
