Romantic and authentic are two words that suit Trattorio L’Olivio. The restaurant serves Swiss-Italian cuisine and this combination is also evident in the décor as well as on the exterior of this cosy place on the Heuvel. The façade has a Swiss look with small windows and wooden planters on the window sills, while the interior looks like an Italian wine cellar. There’s no written menu to speak of, but the staff has no trouble explaining what dishes are available that day as the chef only cooks with seasonal ingredients. You’ll no doubt enjoy your meal, but be careful not to exaggerate as there’s a replica of La Bocca della Verita (The Mouth of Truth) on the wall. If you start telling tall tales, you might walk out with a stump where your hand used to be.
