Imagine that your Polish-Ukrainian aunt has invited you for dinner. By the way, the year is 1955. Kupol blends a homey atmosphere, traditional Polish cuisine and antiques from the early 20th century to create one of Lviv’s most unforgettable dining experiences. Add to that reasonable prices and limited seating and…well, you’d be wise to book ahead. The pork in cranberry sauce is particularly popular. The separate banquet hall accommodates up to 20.

I loved that place! Had many dinners there and all were excellent! Very friendly owner (is the Polish lady still the owner?) and very friendly waitresses and waiters.

This is now our favourite ww/wl* restaurants in Lviv. Great food, attentive service and an intimate setting.*an expression we picked up somewhere - white wine/white linen

Actually, the year would 1938, as the interior is extremely interwar Polish. All the pictures, a lot of the items such as mirrors, the lacy curtains, the old containers, etc., are all from some old Polish dreambook. So much of that world was destroyed when the Soviets took over that the sisters who (used to own? still do?) established the restaurant tried to recreate it. It's a lovely restaurant that for Ukraine, provides a very relaxing, quality dining experience. Sometimes the service is a little rough, considering the "genteel" appearance of the restaurant, but other than that, it's first class dining a la Lviv.
