If you plan on travelling at least a few days in the Lake Lucerne region, it might be worthwhile picking up a Tell-Pass. One ticket allows you to travel on all trains, buses, boats and aerial cable ways including trips, for example, to Mount Titlis, Pilatus and Rigi. You can choose between 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 days of unrestricted travel. It's great value: if you were to visit Mount Pilatus on one day and Mount Titlis on the next, the cable car passes alone would cost 164 Sfr and with the 2-day Tell-Pass for 180 Sfr (110 Sfr in winter) the cable car tickets plus the train and local buses would also be included. Apart from transportation there are 20 - 50% discounts at the Glasi Hergiswil, the Verkehrshaus and Gletschergarten. You can buy your pass online or at the main train and boat station in Lucerne.
