The Miramar Palace is a Tudor-style building located in one of the most beautiful spots of San Sebastian – on a hill that separates the beaches of La Concha and Ondarreta. This historic building was built in the late 19th century by Queen Regent Maria Cristina as the summer residence of the Spanish monarchy. The building is distinguished by its octagonal tower and half-timbered details and the relatively simple but elegant home. Beautiful gardens with outstanding ocean views lead down to a seafront promenade along the Bahía de la Concha. In 1972 the gardens were opened to the public, while the building itself usually remains closed.
