Snowdonia National Park
Above it all sits Mount Snowdon, the highest peak of the country, the so-called Roof of Wales. The UK’s most visited mountain, a clear day affords the conquerer views as far as Ireland, Scotland, England and more. It is a challenge waiting to be vanquished, a tough task with refreshing pints of ale at every turn. The post-hike pint is mandatory, by the way.
Humanity and nature collide here, smashing together in a smorgasbord of whatever it is that makes the Welsh so very special. Castles and museums, lakes and peaks, idyllic towns and gorgeous serenity. There are more than 100 lakes waiting to be found, photographed, embraced and adored, before nipping back to places like Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert and Llanrwst for that well-earned pint. Snowdonia National Park, you are something else.
