With absurdly high ceilings, exposed brick walls, great views through huge plate glass windows and super comfortable seating, this riverside café leaves little to be desired - the place even smells great thanks to bouquets of fresh cut flowers at the entrance. Delectable-looking cakes are displayed in specially-built cases, and gourmet chocolates and teas are also on sale, as well as award-winning cocktails. We didn't think Ljubljana had room for any more cafés, but Lolita proved us wrong.

Upon entering, you will be greeted by a very sophisticated, feminine interior. Couches are upholstered with pink silks and velvet. The chairs and cherry pendant lights, with their black and white motif, give off a contemporary feel to the place. It is a perfect mix of modern and vintage. Lolita has an array of delectable and intricately-designed cakes and other pastries. I ordered their Crème Brûlée and it was heaven in my mouth. The custard base was so creamy and not too sweet for my taste buds. Caramelized to perfection. The burnt parts of the caramel add that bittersweet taste. It was so good.
