80km southeast of Ljubljana and sat around 170m above sea level amid forests and meadows, Šmarješke is widely regarded as the place to head to for help with cardiovascular ailments. It has programs in place for post-heart attack rehabilitation among other things, but there is much more to it than just help for the ticker. Six thermal pools, including a wooden pool built above a thermal spring, are among our highlights. Three exclusively-equipped four star hotels are also on board.
