Ljubljana is indisputably* the cultural capital of the country, and consequently boasts an abundance of exceedingly high-quality, expertly curated museums that other European cities of its size would find very difficult to match. Of course, it helps that Slovenia has a rich tradition of talented artists to draw from, and an even richer and longer historical legacy of the various empires and ages from which countless priceless items have survived and found their way into local collections.
