This long narrow square in the heart of the old town is Kranj’s main public space (hence the name) and home to many of the city’s most visited sights, such as the Parish Church of St Kancijan, Prešeren Theatre, several galleries, museums and the tourist office. It also serves as the main venue for events throughout the year, from weekly farmer’s markets to the all-important Prešeren’s Fair. Like much of the rest of the old town the square was recently renovated and restored.
