By virtue of its long and diverse history, Niš has, although not a hugely busy events calendar, several very large, important and great cultural events. While the majority of happenings are in the summer months, with the most visited occasion being the internationally renowned Nišville festival, autumn and winter see their fare share as well, including the two week long NIMUS classical music festival and a handful of conferences and exhibitions. The cultural focal point of Niš is undoubtedly the fortress and its ancient grounds, inspirational indeed.
