Meaning 'nest', Gnezdo is a brand new (August/September 2009) cafe on a main road in the centre of Niš. Having been built from scratch by a local artist, it now serves coffee, a good range of tea (still rare) and cocktails. The highlight has to be the delicious hot chocolate: like a super-sweet pudding layered with crunchy biscuit crumbs and topped with thick cream. Humanistic art and atmospheric portraits give it a special feeling, unfortunately not complimented by a Robbie Williams album on long play. Often frequented by small groups of students, thanks to its proximity to a high school.
