Princess Ljubica’s Residence

Princess Ljubica’s Residence is one of the most important monumental buildings in Belgrade, and one on the rare preserved memorials of the Obrenović dynasty. It was under construction from 1829 to 1831 as a court of Prince Miloš Obrenović, but due to the fact that the Turkish army resided nearby, Milos used it occasionally and built another residence in Topčider. After exile of Obrenović family in 1842 it lost its original purpose. After reconstruction, in 1980s it became a part of Belgrade City Museum. “Interiors of XIX century Belgrade houses” is permanently exhibited there.
