S.P.A.S Gallery

The oldest gallery in St. Petersburg led the way in promoting contemporary art. It particularly promotes those artists who were suppressed, hounded and imprisoned under soviet rule. Promising young artists and their teachers are also given exhibition time so the gallery can feel eclectic. A small back room contains past exhibits and if you’re prepared to juggle canvas and sift through stacks of paintings there really are some treasures.
