This park is an ideal place for a long stroll on a beautiful sunny day because it is not as popular among locals or tourists. Some parts of the parkland can still give a fair impression of the carefully planned landscaping carried out in the reign of Catherine the Great, while others have become so overgrown that they are just wilderness. The Upper Park, southwest of the Grand Menshikov Palace, is the most beautiful section of the estate. The Lower Park around the Grand Menshikov Palace was laid out in the early 18th century, when formal gardens were still the fashion.
